The Downtown Camp Hill Association
The Downtown Camp Hill Association supports and strengthens the Downtown Business District using the Main Street approach. A volunteer-driven association, it collaborates with local government and is focused on streetscape revitalization, building a strong enterprise ecosystem, and being a catalyst for economic prosperity and community gathering spaces.

The Downtown Camp Hill Association and its board are committed to building a prosperous and diverse business district that supports a walkable and shopable neighborhood concept, inspires community connections and entrepreneurial potential, and believes a vibrant downtown is the heart and soul of this historic Borough.
Our History
In July of 2016, a report was done by the Urban Land Institute regarding the Camp Hill Borough Business District Corridor. The report offered several suggestions for strengthening the downtown. One suggestion was to create an organization to promote the downtown and act as a liaison between the businesses and Borough Council. In early 2018, Simone Collins Landscape Architects prepared a streetscape plan for the corridor. The plan suggested that a main street manager be hired to promote the district. By May of 2018, the Borough hired a downtown coordinator to form a main street organization that would follow the Four Point Main Street Approach as established by Main Street America; a program of the nonprofit National Main Street Center, Inc., a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. In June of 2018, the Downtown Camp Hill Association started to take shape. The DCHA office is located in the Borough Offices. The DCHA specifically focuses on the downtown business district on or around Market Street.

Committees
The Plein Air Committee focuses on incorporating art in Downtown Camp Hill. The committee meets to plan and discuss the annual Art Walk Event. The committee strives to create an artistic aspect, unique to downtown that will bring visitors from the region and beyond to Camp Hill.
Committee Chair
This committee’s purpose is to build, manage, and grow a traditional farmer’s market in the business district of Camp Hill that emphasizes community access to fresh and sustainable local agriculture, serves as a resource for public health and wellness initiatives, and invites pedestrian traffic in the business district. We will support downtown Camp Hill businesses with rotating booth availability and pursue partnerships with regional corporations, non-profit organizations, and Camp Hill Borough officials to accomplish these goals.

This committee fosters partnerships between DCHA and downtown Camp Hill businesses in service of raising funds in support of the DCHA’s broader mission. The Sponsorship Committee builds sponsorship levels, develops materials to market opportunities for business engagement, and provides structure for the deliverables that sponsors can expect for their financial support.

The Promotions Committee focuses primarily on creating and executing 4 (four) seasonal events: Spring Fling, Camp Hill Art Walk, Harvest Hop, and The Candy Cane Walk. The committee has created a unique graphic for each event and communicates the details and opportunities of the events with the business community. The Committee makes and distributes promotional materials such as save-the-date cards, posters, and maps of participating businesses. They also promote these events on social media.

The Downtown Ambassadors programs is a volunteer initiative of the DCHA focused on creating a welcoming, vibrant downtown experience. Ambassadors suppport events, engage with visitors, and help strengthen connections between businesses and the community. Through this program, volunteers play and active role in helping downtown Camp Hill thrive.
Committee Chair
Business Development establishes a business-friendly culture and supportive environment by assisting new and existing businesses with information, support, and connections to drive the local economy. With a goal to convert unused space, this Committee plans and executes initiatives that inform potential new businesses about the community and the financial incentives available for property development and/or improvements. Building relationships among the business community is key to growing and sustaining the downtown. Quarterly mixer events are planned to interact and share information and resources among our peers.

The Executive Committee comprises the officers of the Board. It focuses on organization-wide issues such as internal governance and fundraising initiatives, and serves to direct and guide the priorities of the Association.
